Construction seen through women’s eyes
Kitchen - The heart of the house
18 July 2020
I always thought about construction as building a beautifully organized life on a solid base with a well-planned structure.
I am more practical when it comes to the space I live in. These days everyone desires to have everything at hand and a more comfortable place for saving their time.
I planned my own house, and my first thought was – the kitchen. Most of the women will do the same. Having a big kitchen with all the help of modern life now makes the kitchen a beautiful space in our home. Cooking becomes easier when you have space to turn around and play in your kitchen makes the house full of joy and beauty.
The second room was The Master Bedroom – big and comfortable, simple, with very high walls and long white curtains… inspires freedom and flexibility.
Small spaces and tiny houses are charming and comfortable for some women, and some women would prefer to live in huge homes as this is what they love. I picked a medium place, and every time we did something for the house, I looked at my plan and explained what my dream house would look like so I could happily live my life there and bloom. This is my house:
The sizeable oversized hall at the entrance, followed by the living room – cosy and perfect for my family with a built-in library and fireplace. The master bedroom would be downstairs as well. The kitchen is large, white, with underfloor heating and oversized windows next to the living room. A window would be part of the roof so I can see the sky through in the evenings. From there you can go to a beautiful terrace then into a garden with flowers and a pigeons house. The kitchen is an extension as the second floor is above the living room, master bedroom, hall, and bathroom. Above all these would be the children’s bedrooms and the study. At least three bathrooms in the house as well. I would make a beautiful cosy place out of the attic – windows fitted in the ceiling so I can see the stars. My house looks gorgeous, and I am very happy.
If I think about my friends, 9 out of 10 will change something in a house they buy or move in. It’s the fact that every woman is different and unique, and if she feels comfortable in the home, then she can bring joy to the other members of the family. If she is uncomfortable, she will do her best to change whatever needs changing until everything looks like she has dreamed of.
Except for being only an architect, which more women get involved in our times but hardly excelled, I realized that there is a need for more women in the construction industry. A woman is very determined to reach her goal of finding THE PERFECT house where she can live forever with her loved ones. So there she goes into actually building the home of her dreams. And what can stop a woman?
