Discover where CIVCONS DESIGN are delivering projects and find up how YOU CAN BE PART OF IT.
As in every other industry, some construction jobs or trades can be paid more than others. Depending on the skills, knowledge, and experience, you can get a job or attend to make a more well-paid trade. You can do a wide range of jobs; for example, if you do not wish to work on-site, you might want to look into a lot of office jobs, such as designing, planning, surveying, and management.
Construction has been evolving from what has been known in the past as a “harsh and low-paid workplace”. Now, if you got the proper training and qualification, you can earn more than a decent salary.

The most frequently features that a job recruiter seeks to find in a perfect candidate, besides the qualifications, is attitude. A hard-working, respectful, and team-adaptable person will be the essential aptitudes when looking to hire someone.
You can achieve other trade skills through training or apprenticeship programs. Experience is another crucial factor when it decides against employing someone. Experience shows that you are familiar with the work area, and you can do your activities based on a period of practice.

Construction is seen as something that can be done only by full-healthy people. The building industry has a variety of jobs that do not require being physically perfect. For example, there is a lot of office-related employment that you can do without having the ideal sight condition or a muscular physique. Of course, some trades require to be in good shape, like being a bricklayer or a roofer, but if you think about designing, planning, or surveying, that is not a “must-have” feature.
So yes, construction has a range of jobs that you can do without being physically perfect.

Simply answered, YES, THEY DO!
Now, more than anytime before. The number of women doing construction-related jobs has been seen in continuous growth in the last period. The male workforce still dominates the industry, but slowly the industry changes, allowing women to find more easily fitted jobs.
A wide range of designing, architecture, engineering, and quantity/quality surveying is covered by female operatives. Here, at CIVCONS DESIGN, we encourage all our partners to support the beneficiary outcome of introducing women’s perspectives in building projects.

There are a lot of methods through which a person can improve himself in construction. To develop the skills, knowledge, or/and experience, there are many training schemes available to everyone who wishes to learn. These training organisations deliver training and qualification recognised in all UK’s construction sites.
Another suitable method, which we encourage at CIVCONS DESIGN, is apprenticeship. It might not be the fastest way to get a qualification, but it is the best way to gain “hands-on” experience. By doing what would be required in the desired trade, under supervision would be the most guaranteed way of ensuring that you will be competent in your job in the future.

Construction industry workers represent approx. 7% of the UK’s total number of jobs, which roughly is 2.4 million according to the latest statistics, and each year is growing. The building business is in continuous expansion, meaning that new jobs vacancy is advertised on the market every quarter of the year. Job seekers can find it relatively easy if they prove to be competent and qualified. Construction job recruiters accentuate the need for qualifications and experience when looking for the perfect candidate. You might want to consider seeking to be trained by a national-wide recognised training organisation when looking to get a certificate to help you get a job. The most known is The Construction Industry Training Board, shortly CITB.

Many organisations offer to train and provide guidance to those seeking to find an apprenticeship program. The most common ones when it comes to construction are The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
At CIVCONS DESIGN, we encourage this training method because it can develop the skills and knowledge of the attendees. By not just standing in a class, learning theoretical concepts, and doing the work hands-on, the apprentice improves its suitability for future jobs.
