Construction seen through women’s eyes

Being a Painter is an Art

7 April 2021

I would like to start by telling my opinion about how I see, as a woman, the construction, and here I am talking strictly about what I am focused on.

I follow the principle “Men must not change their mentality to let women rule the world, but women must renew their knowledge to lead the world”. I strongly believe in women and their ability and ambition to move mountains if they are willing to. The woman should not be marginalized just because she has the status of a woman. A woman’s opinion matters, and I think that “perfection” exists initially in her eyes. With it, she is driven to make things faster, more beautiful, and more qualitative, of course being more involved in projects like” Construction “and not only …

I tell you from my own experience… I am a Painter now, and I fell in love with this job. Still, I’ve seen “Construction” differently before having a career in this industry, and it seemed very strange as I thought they wouldn’t appreciate a woman’s role in a construction’s site. I thought it is not her place to be in a world where men are superior and dominant, believing that this is a men’s world and not a women’s one… But why think like that?

Four years ago, my husband suggested that I work with him on a construction site and help him finish the decoration of an apartment. At first, I was reluctant to go because I am a woman, and this would be something unusual. I said to myself, “What should I look for in – a construction site full of men? “and then he was the one who supported me and said,” My dear, you do an honest job that you should not avoid, and you should not be ashamed “. I was ambitious, and I thought I could, shame was not constructive in this case, as he told me, and with his encouragement, I succeeded!

Step by step and with a lot of work, I went from being a simple help to my husband on the site to a “Painter” job. Now I give life to the walls. I give life to so many houses through the colour I give the walls. For me, what others could look like simple rooms could be the opportunity to make art. Indeed I feel like I’m the artist’s canvas with a misunderstood art. For that, I like to say all the time, “Being a Painter is an art! “

And what I believe is that: YES! Women can achieve what I thought only men could do!
